Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese based, non-invasive therapy that utilizes universal life energy to gently yet effectively promote internal balance and well-being. Reiki has its roots in Tibetan history and is thousands of years old. It was reclaimed in the 19th century by a Japanese monk after devoting his life to study, research, and meditation.
Reiki creates a connection between this life force energy and the reiki practitioner by a series of attunements. Once attuned to the universal energy is accessible and is allowed to flow freely through the practitioner's hands. The person receiving Reiki draws only the amount of energy needed to create balance and is ultimately in control of each reiki session. Once a person is energetically balanced, they can begin to heal more effectively. Clinics and hospitals across the country use Reiki as a complementary treatment.
Reiki includes many of the same benefits of other bodywork modalities, and their effects are cumulative. Here are a few reasons to consider receiving Reiki in your wellness goals:
1) Promotes relaxation and improves sleep
2) Lowers blood pressure and heart rate
3) Improves immune function
4) Reduces acute and chronic pain
Bee at Peace Wellness Reiki sessions last about an hour, with the receiver fully clothed on a comfortable massage table. Soft music is played in the background while Leslie uses different hand placements either on the body or slightly above to align and restore energy pathways in the body. Single sessions, as well as a series of three or six, are available.
Leslie was exceptional when giving me my reiki sessions. She listened when I detailed an area that needed specific attention and then concentrated on that area, while in the same session, covered the whole body. Her approach was holistic and spiritual.
Leslie was attentive to everything I said about my situation and didn't rush me. Her work was focused and helped a lot.
Everything about my reiki experience was wonderful. Leslie Cox is a compassionate person with the gift of healing. I would wholeheartedly recommend Leslie and RiverStone Wellness. - Jeanette
